INTRODUCTION
Necrosis of the subshell and hematopoietic organs occurs in black tiger shrimp and white-leg shrimp caused by the Infectious hypodermal & hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHHNV). The disease can occur at all stages of shrimp development and spreads rapidly both vertically and horizontally. When infected, black tiger shrimp often have a green body, opaque white abdominal muscles and a high mortality rate within 10 – 20 days after stocking. Meanwhile, signs of infection in white-legged shrimp are often poor appetite, reduced growth, deformed cephalothorax appendages, rough shrimp shells, etc. Therefore, early detection and proactive prevention are essential. Preventing disease is essential.
TopSPEC® Air-Dryable IHHNV qPCR Kit is a test kit that detects the presence of IHHNV (Capsid protein gene) in shrimp samples using Real-time PCR technique. The kit helps to detect pathogens present in the farming environment early and quickly. In addition, with the use of dry mix technology, the kit can be stored at a cool temperature, convenient for direct testing on-site, saving time and effort in transporting samples to the laboratory.
