INTRODUCTION
Microsporidian disease in shrimp is caused by the parasite Enterocytozoon Hepatopenaei (EHP). They live parasitically in hepatopancreatic epithelial cells, hindering the absorption of nutrients, causing stunted shrimp growth. The disease is detected in both black tiger shrimp and white leg shrimp and can spread through food or from sick shrimp to healthy shrimp.
TopSPEC® Air-Dryable EHP qPCR Kit is a test kit that detects the presence of Enterocytozoon Hepatopenaei (EHP) (SWP1 gene) on shrimp samples using Real-time PCR technique. The kit helps detect pathogens present in the farming environment early and quickly. In addition, with the use of dry mix technology, the kit can be stored at cool temperatures, convenient for direct on-site testing, saving time and effort in transporting samples to the laboratory.
