Introduction
Plasmodium is a single-celled parasite responsible for causing malaria in humans. To complete its life cycle, Plasmodium obligatorily parasitizes two host organisms including vertebrates (such as humans) and insects (mosquitoes). There are 5 species of Plasmodium caused human diseases: P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, P. malariae, P. knowlesi with P. falciparum being the only species capable of causing fatal outcomes in humans. Individuals with malaria typically exhibit symptoms such as chills, fever with sweating, headache, and fatigue. Without timely treatment, patients can progress to severe malaria, malignant malaria, potentially leading to death
Plasmodium falciparum
TopSENSI® Plasmodium falciparum/vivax/malariae qPCR KIT is designed for effective qualitative detection of malaria parasite (P. falciparum, P. vivax and P. malariae) in whole blood samples of DBS samples using Real-time PCR technique. The kit is based on the multiplex real-time PCR method to amplify the specific sequence region of Plasmodium with many advantages: specificity, high sensitivity, internal and external control system to control the extraction and PCR process.
Highlights
- Simple procedure
- Optimize the PCR time to 1.5 hours
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Taqman probe technology
