Introduction
Chlamydial infection is a common sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. Most infected people have mild or no symptoms, but it could lead to some serious complications such as urethritis, cervicitis, especially infertility in both men and women.
Gonorrhea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae and can affect the mucous membranes of the urethra, cervix, rectum, throat, or conjunctiva, leading to irritation, pain, and intermittent bleeding. Both types of bacteria are transmitted through sexual contact and result in adverse effects during the active phase of the disease. Therefore, quickly detecting the disease-causing agents simultaneously can save time and enable timely diagnosis and treatment.
