INTRODUCTION
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is the main causative agent of a respiratory infectious disease known as tuberculosis (TB), a disease that has a latent incubation period after initial infection. Tuberculosis is the world’s leading cause of death among adults, with the averaging of 1.7 million death mostly in low-income countries. HIV/AIDS is the single most important factor leading to TB transmission. Therefore, early detection for the presence of MTB in the latent stage is a better measure for TB prevention and treatment.
TopSENSI® MTB qPCR KIT is a test kit based on real-time PCR method enabling fast and accurate detection of MTB agent from biopsy, sputum samples. The kit includes internal control, negative control, and positive control to strictly control the testing process.
